I learned how to tune pianos at Robert Lowrey's Piano Experts over 30 years ago and worked as a tuner at Lowrey's for 25 years.  I have worked for Piano Tune Canada since it's inception.

Keith  Pettit

I have been a piano tuner/technician for over 30 years. I presently do restorations plus tunings for residential, churches, concerts at the Entertainment Centre at Casino Rama and music studios in Toronto. My work has mainly been with professionals, residential clients or with others who know and demand a high level of perfection from their technician.

I have tuned for Oscar Peterson and also for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra with artists such as Louis Lorti, Angela Hewitt, Andre Laplant.  My experience includes a trip to the Bosendorfer factory in Vienna, Austria and the Schimmel factory in Braunschweig, Germany, working with the technicians in the area of tone regulation.

Chuck Huang

Chuck Huang

I’ve been a full time piano technician for over 30 years and I have to admit, it’s a great job! I have come to take it for granted for the most part but every once in a while it occurs to me how lucky I am to be around musical instruments all day long. The piano in particular is a marvel of mechanical engineering. It is without a doubt the most complex stringed instrument in the world. A piano technician has to be able to tune, repair and restore the finest (and most expensive) pianos as well as the most fragile family heirlooms and even the “free to a good home” practice piano, all with the same goal in mind, to bring out the best that that particular piano is capable of. That is my goal.
Sergey Iveker

Sergey Ivker

I came to Canada on March 2nd, 1979 from Kiev, Ukraine where I worked as a piano technician for 20 years.  On March 10th I started work in Winnipeg for J.J. Maclean Piano Company and worked there for nine months as a piano tuner.  In November 1979 I moved to Toronto and started to work for Robert Lowrey's Piano Experts and now I am working for Piano Tune Canada.
Stephen King

Stephen King - Certified Piano Technician

I have been tuning the GTA for Piano Tune Canada since 2005. In preparation for roadside tuning, I spent a few months in Robert Lowrey's piano workshop, preparing pianos for delivery. Certification was earned at University of Western Ontario's Piano Technology Program. The piano is an instrument of entertainment, enjoyment and learning. It is my goal to ensure that the piano is at its best so that all piano players may express themselves as better musicians, so they can showcase all their hard work and practice.

Tom Lillington

Tom Lillington

I've been working in the GTA for almost 20 years now since graduating from George Brown College's Piano Tech Program. Since then I've serviced thousands of instruments; from modest spinets to full concert grands; in private homes, schools and churches to concert halls and recording studios. I've enjoyed finding something new and challenging in every piano every day! I am also a professional singer, composer and music director, just to keep life full!

Dan Mackay

Dan Mackay

Like many of you, Dan started life as a humble zygote, and didn't become a piano technician until much later. He was raised in Nova Scotia (BSc at Dal), and eventually settled in Toronto. He trained at UWO for piano technology, and has been busy ever since, providing tuning and rebuilding services for several institutions including Royal Conservatory of Music, where he is an associate tuner. Dan has also worked on stage and screen, and with some patience and the right kind of eyes, he can be spied wearing his thespian pants.

Chris Porter

Music has been a part of my life ever since I was a child. Attending the University of Western Ontario and receiving my Bachelor of Music and my Piano Technician Certificate has given me the skills to play, tune and repair pianos. My experiences both as a piano player and piano technician gives me the capacity required to ensure your piano is well serviced, from its tuning right down to the way its played. Ensuring everyone enjoys playing the piano as much as I do!
