Chuck HuangI’ve been a full time piano technician for over 30 years and I have to admit, it’s a great job! I have come to take it for granted for the most part but every once in a while it occurs to me how lucky I am to be around musical instruments all day long. The piano in particular is a marvel of mechanical engineering. It is without a doubt the most complex stringed instrument in the world. A piano technician has to be able to tune, repair and restore the finest (and most expensive) pianos as well as the most fragile family heirlooms and even the “free to a good home” practice piano, all with the same goal in mind, to bring out the best that that particular piano is capable of. That is my goal. |

Stephen King - Certified Piano TechnicianI have been tuning the GTA for Piano Tune Canada since 2005. In preparation for roadside tuning, I spent a few months in Robert Lowrey's piano workshop, preparing pianos for delivery. Certification was earned at University of Western Ontario's Piano Technology Program. The piano is an instrument of entertainment, enjoyment and learning. It is my goal to ensure that the piano is at its best so that all piano players may express themselves as better musicians, so they can showcase all their hard work and practice.
